About Me
Savannah Jean-Pharuns artist portfolio based in Miami, FL
I am a mixed-media visual artist born and raised in Miami, Florida. My passion for art was ignited at the age of 11 when I first recognized my creative talent. This passion guided me through middle and high schools renowned for their art programs, where I earned numerous awards for my work. I further honed my skills in pre-college programs at the Kansas City Art Institute and the School of Visual Arts. Today, I continue to evolve as an artist at the prestigious Cornell University.
My work is dedicated to amplifying the voices of underserved communities. I strive to evoke deep emotional responses and inspire action through the stories I convey in my art. The everyday moments I encounter fuel my creativity, motivating me to capture their significance on canvas. Painting these glimpses of life feels not just important but essential.
Looking ahead, my goal is to create pieces that reflect the moments and issues I often see on social media—topics that are frequently overlooked or lack clear answers. I aim to bring these unresolved subjects to the forefront, offering a visual representation that encourages reflection and dialogue.

PORTFOLIO
My work is a celebration of Black culture, brought to life through vibrant and engaging art that highlights the beauty and richness of our daily lives. I adore painting Black people, capturing their essence, joy, and experiences in a unique and fun way. Portraits are my passion; they allow me to connect deeply with my subjects and tell their stories through expressive and dynamic compositions.

In addition to celebrating Black culture, my art also reflects my personal journey. I've created pieces that delve into my own struggles, using art as a means to process and overcome these challenges. Through my work, I aim to inspire and uplift, showcasing the resilience, love, and spirit of the Black community while also sharing my personal story of healing and growth.
